Good old new Metallica

Dude this new Metallica album just rocks!!!!

I am very impressed, it sounds new but at the same time has the same energy and feel of their classic 80's albums. They haven’t compromised this time. All songs are a punch in your ear. None of then have less than 6 minutes of heavy riffs, savage drumming and awesome melodic passages. The album is a lot less alternative then its predecessor (St. Anger), which was recorded in a very peculiar manner.

I don’t know if this matter anymore but the album has been number one at the billboard for 4 weeks. One of the reasons for the success maybe that the once mortal enemy of the new technologies has now embraced it with all its forces. Metallica now has a YouTube channel and made its website looks like a blog. Times are changing.

Enough of me talking here it’s their new song.

A tale of an ordinary but quite amazing life

Once again he could see that glint on her eyes that would set his whole world on fire. And from the start he knew that it would be the end of him. Because, how can you grasp a summer breeze? How can you save a sunrise for later? However, how can you battle something that is already part of you?

And if every passing minute is a chance to turn it all around, what went wrong before? And most important what had changed? Probably nothing had. A future that has never been. And stubbornly it tried to escape from oblivion.

Was it too much? Could it had happened any other way? Those are question that belong to philosophers. He on the other hand could only keep moving. He was the man who never gives in because that would be given up.

A tale of an ordinary but quite amazing life

She had a particular type of beauty. The one you would stare for hours; never quite knowing what caught your eyes in the first place. Nonetheless what stroke him first was her ability to provoke him. It seemed, sometimes, she had in her possession a blueprint of his soul. An access to a special place that no one had ever had. Deep down he had alway known that those wandering eyes would be the end of him.

As a goddess Fortuna's joke they were never at the same page in the book of life. In the begining he spent his time in the pages of now and she thrived in the lines yet to be written. When finally he ran to join her she got back to the first chapters and held on to a past, which could only had been great through the dirty glass of memory.

All that he could offer was dreams that were thick and solid as a summer breeze after a storm. Who would believe a thive caught so many times? And in desire his heart burned and longed for a future that hanged for a thread. (to be continued...)

The Webb Ellis' game

When the young William Webb Ellis caught the ball in his hand and ran during a football match, he had no idea what great sport he had invented back then. Rugby, in its several variations, is played all around the globe and unites million around the passion for the oval ball. A sport that is more than a sport, it is a lifestyle.

A very physical game but at the same time a strategic game in which what will count the most is your capability to focus on the game, know what to do at the right time and your passion in every movement. Anyone can play Rugby from the fat guy to the skinny nerd boy. People tend to think that the most important thing is your body strength but what really counts is your discipline (be there for your team and not for yourself); your attitude (give a 110% for your team and not for yourself) and respect (leadership is gain by actions not by words).

An old English saying goes – “football is a game for gentlemen played by ruffians and rugby is a game for ruffians played by gentlemen". In no other sport the respect for the rules and the other players in the pitchy is more important than in Rugby, because any disrespect for the laws may cause serious injuries in both sides, therefore Rugby created a culture to frown on unsporting behaviors. In rugby there is no simulation, no tons of complaints with the referee and no mocking gestures towards an adversary.

I've known and liked Rugby since the word cup in 2003 and since then it has really grown on me the desire to play the sport. Last wednesday, by an invitation of a friend of mine, I went to my first Rugby practice. It was one of the most painful and tiresome experience in my life, but at the same time one of the most rewarding ones. You can’t help to have a smile on your face when you leave the field. Because of the university and health problems I will not be able to train regularly this year. But I am looking forward for the next year to start to practice again and play my first game.
